Sometimes, you know exactly when it’s time to call the pest control expert. However, there are times when you may wait longer than you should and it can cause bigger issues. If you simply cannot get your pest issue under control, it may be time to call a pest control expert.
If you are dealing with roaches, you may need an expert sooner, rather than later. When you start spotting roaches during the day, there are usually many more in hiding. They will also have egg sacs ready to hatch and invade your home.
Roaches are nocturnal and come out mainly at night. If you see a few scattering during the day, you need to call a pest control expert. It’s time to get help before they get out of hand.
You may think you can handle an ant infestation on your own. There are plenty of DIY options, but many will actually cause a larger problem with ants. Ants don’t respond to home pesticides from your local store the same way other pests will. Instead, they go through a process called “budding” which causes them to become defensive.
When “budding” happens, ants will actually produce many queens and they will create new colonies. This only makes the problem worse and it can take over your house and your yard. If you spot a colony of ants, call a professional before it gets out of hand.
Rats and Mice
Just spotting one mouse could mean you have a much larger problem. Rats and mice both reproduce very quickly and you may end up with families of these pest if you wait too long to call a professional exterminator.
Just one mouse or rat can leave hundreds of droplets of urine throughout your home every single day. This is their trail for food and nesting. For you, it’s very unsanitary and you need to handle the issue.
In part 2 of this post, we will cover when you should call a pest control expert when dealing with scorpions, termites and spiders.
